Assassin's Creed II
I managed to play through and beat Assassin's Creed II. It was fairly long, but still nothing compared to the classic games from the Playstation N64 era.
The game's graphics are decent, but ever since I played Batman: Arkham Asylum, my standards on what level graphics should be have gone up substantially. Compared to that, Assassin's Creed II graphics are nothing short of mediocre, and only minimally better than the graphics of the previous game, Assassin's Creed.
The gameplay still has a great feel to it. It is easy to do whatever you want and the ability to use your own fighting style has been upped even further, allowing you to fight against an opponent with a battleaxe using your bare hands. That being said, it is still way too easy. Those of you who have played the original will know what I am talking about. Countering is way too simple and you can easily take down ten or more enemies just by doing the same exact thing.
The customization is respectable compared to the last one, but is still lacking, and has some very fail aspects. For example: While you can buy and change your weapons and armor, you can't unequip any of it, which means you are stuck wearing a set of armor.
While you can also buy all these clothing dyes, there are only maybe two or three good ones, and they don't even matter after you find the armor of Altair, as it comes with its own dyed robes that you can not change.
All this customization is al so boring as well, beings you are still stuck playing a person who isn't your own. There is no character creator in this game, and while the story revolves around the character already in the game, the story wasn't even that great. It is more or less just a fail extension to the actually decent story that the original Assassin's Creed has.
Gameplay: 85% - Very Fluid.
Menus: 85% - Well organized, but there are some points that can confuse people.
Graphics: 60% - They are not much better than the first game.
Sound: 80% - The sound is fluid to the movements
Controls: 80% - Easy to use.
Customization: 60% - It's better than the first game, but is still lacking a great deal.
Story: 50% - It's just a fail extension of the first game.
Overall: 71%
